It seems that the road infrastructure in the Western Cape is
being upgraded all over the place. There are currently several stop/go sections
between Cape Town and the towns of Worcester, Robertson, Ashton, Montagu and
Bonnievale.
It makes us look differently at the valley. I try to capture moments with my camera while we wait at the various stop/go’s.
It is clearly autumn in the valley. With most of the harvesting done, the orchards and vineyards are taking on the hues of yellows, browns, oranges and reds. The red cannas that line the road between the towns of Robertson and Bonnievale are bright and alive against the clear blue skies.
We would have preferred the skies to be more subdued, in shades of wet grey, but still love the bright blue sky that forms such a dramatic backdrop for the autumn colours.
The stop/go’s on the road can be inconvenient but perhaps
one needs some stop/go’s in your life that force you to stand still and enjoy
the beauty that can be found in any moment, even inconvenient ones.
A metaphor for life. Every challenge presents its opportunities! Thanks for the thought provoking post.
