Peas and Roses

The peas were really prolific and at most I have another weekend of peas ahead of me before they will be taken out and added to the compost bins.

Fresh Green Peas
Organic Peas
Peas are popping up in most of the meals as the current vegetable in season.
The oaks are finally dropping their marcescent leaves, a sure sign that spring is here and that they are ready to burst into the soft green of spring.

Some of the first roses
The roses are looking healthy and happy with some already blooming. It feels like a very short winter period in which they were completely dormant.

More of the first Roses
It is always good to see that the hard work that we put into the garden pays off in a pleasing display of healthy plants and blooms.

  1. Who remembers the days when peas had to be shelled in the normal course of things! As a child the task often fell to me and you had to whistle while doing so. To stop whistling was a warning to parents that peas might be going astray.
