The Petal Paparazzi

The rosarium is starting to come into a major spring flush and with all the blooms opening it is a feast for the eyes and nose. With cars driving past slowly and some passengers stopping to take photographs it has become an art to be in the garden and out of random photographs.

It took a long time for people to understand that the roses were there for all to enjoy and not for picking for individual pleasure. Before we had the extra security it was not strange to come home to find a local with a secateurs in hand picking away in the rose garden.

We created the rosarium to be a feast for the eyes, in its totality, and not the vase, and people could not understand that. Now the rosarium is established and we have many people walking, running and cycling along the road all enjoying the display of roses in season.

  1. It seems like only the other day when we were Pruning, Planning and Planting and the seasonal contrast over the two month interlude is quite dramatic.
